Transfer to series production

Design transfer is the term describing the process step between a successful R&D task and its transfer into production. Under ISO 13485 guidance the scale up process from prototypes over a pilot build to serial manufacturing will follow a documented stage gate process in order to warrant continues control of specification, BOM structure and test requirements.
